We paid a short visit to Amsterdam, just to get away from our own habitat and because
we like it there. And as always we stumbled upon some fun stuff. Annelies bought
herself a stack of beautiful postcards, I like the "Van Gogh" onces the most. And I
bought this Mikosa book, a collection of 7 zines into one book. Happy campers overhere.

From the 1st till the 4th of March we will be occupying the third floor of Bar Leon with our own little post office/expo. We invited 6 other creative people to join us in this venture: Hermine, Gilles, Lisa, Dimitri, Mayken and Bart. Together we will create a space where people are welcome to come and write a letter or to get inspired. So if you want to surprise a loved one with something in their letter box, come and join us!

Next week I'll be judged on my schoolwork from the last four months. So I had to put up some drawings and prints that I did. And it wasn't an easy task at all, the selection was too big and cutting down was to hard. But thanks to Annelies I did manage to put on a descent selection of pieces and the result turned out quite nice. It's kinda fun seeing your work hanging on a wall.

Today was the opening of the exhibition by FIEND PROJECTS at 'De Winkelhaak'. A very nice selection of artists and a good variety of work made a little walk more then worth the effort. This show and a whole lot more will be open to the public for 3 more weeks.

A good start of the weekend: yesterday we found a lovely envelop in our letterbox

from the crafty Lisa Kinoo. Opening it was such a pleasure. There was a little treasure

hidden each time you unfolded the package. Never knew you could put a little plant,

tea, postcards and a notebook in 1 envelop. What a treat! Thank you soo much Lisa!

We'll make sure to send you something nice back!

And if there are any other mail lovers out there who want to receive some mail or send

something to us, just let us know!

The day after tomorrow we will be city hoppin' to London! This saturday and sunday

we really want to visit the Renegade Craft Fair at the Old Truman Brewery. It's an

american concept coming to Europe for the first time ever. It looks sooooo amazing!

And we added 2 extra days to visit the city, do some shopping and have some good

food. If you've got some great places to visit, some best kept secrets, let us know!

Today is Chris his birthday! We already celebrated yesterday with friends. Lots of
fun, drinks and cake! There's half a cake left over. That means more cake today.
This evening he had to go to class. We both started evening classes last week: Chris
goes to art school and i'm in my second year of landscape architecture. We are both
really excited about it. It's so nice to be creative because we both can't in our day job.And all the pieces of colored fabric is a small project of me. I'm making a present for a pregnant friend. It should turn out really nicely!

A good friend of us asked if we could make 2 handcrafted record covers for the

new "Ruisbestuiving" project. We were thrilled and started crafting right away....

behold the final result. Annelies stitched the whole thing up and I started drawing, cutting and pasting. All covers ended up in an expo @ the DOKarea in Ghent. Thank you Bart for this oppertunity. See more covers at ruisbestuiving

see what you can do with a black pen, red crayon and some stickers! The left one

A visit to the Converse Blockparty. And boy, what a location! I could live, eat,
sleep and work here! Love all the big windows, stairs, big open space in the middle...

We've spend quite some time at green places last week: playing Kubb with friends
(great game by the way) , discovering a new park close by and going to the country

Today we did our first 'DIY' market and we are happy to say 'we had
a jolly good day.' A lot of people showed up and their feedback was
very welcome to be honest. If you still want one of our handcrafted

In a few weeks we'll be attending the DOKmarket in Ghent with some handcrafted goodies. And that requires some work! We decided to do some more totebags because the reactions from the last ones were so great and because it's fun to do. We had some great help from 'Stella' with the silkscreening process. And they turned out quite good, as we say so ourselves. So keep your eyes open!

Another great find at the flea market this morning: 2 packs of Kodak black and white
120 mm film from the year 1996 ! Can't wait to see the effect . I also found another
great book to add to the collection: the 3 musketeers. Gotta have those classics.
These finds made it definitely worth getting up on time for.. And this afternoon we
went to Bar Leon to get a new hair cut by the lovely and talented Truus. She did a
great job! Summer, here we come!

Not much happened last week, unfortunately. The weather here has been sad: rain and
dark clouds. We stayed in a lot. But we also added some new items to our wardrobes:
pants, t-shirts, dresses, shorts and shoes hoping to get to wear them soon! Fingers crossed!

I love Sessun, I really do. The new spring-summer collection is beautiful. Especially

the top showing in the picture: it has little triangles on it. I've looked but i can't find it anywhere! In an attempt to advance my sewing skills, i'm now trying to make a

sleeveless dress. Looking forward to the result! So far, so good.... A picture also

from Chris in his creative space. I don't know where he gets all his inspiration but

he makes some great things! He also bought a new cd from You Raskal You. Not

only is the cover amazing, also the songs!

The last couple of weeks the weather has been crazy here in Belgium. Apparently it

is the hottest place right now in Europe! For us this meant barbeques on the country

side and flea markets in the city! We found some new treasures: a big green chalk

board with bright red grid and some old bridge note books. Chris also designed some

new buttons! Let us know if you want some.

I just got back from a trip to Cologne, Germany. I didn't have to many expectations but it turned out to be an amazing city! With lots of green on the side of the river for people to have bbq's, read, relax etc. A must see is the Ludwig Museum: modern art and a big Picasso collection. Cologne is also a good shopping place. A tip: Auf wolke sieben (click for link) for shoes and dresses! I'll definitely go back in the summer!

Bar Leon is a great bar here in Borgerhout. It's a 3 story high house, transformed into bar, meeting room, breakfast area, restaurant on thursday, lazy sunday getaway etc... And they support local artists ! We are going to be a part of their new project: you get one square meter of wood and you can do whatever you want with it! Chris and I need to brainstorm but I'm really looking forward on getting started and especially to seeing our work being displayed !
